Analyzing country-specific deployment patterns in wind and solar energy

Contact: Rainer Quitzow.
The deployment of wind and solar energy varies significantly in scope and speed within countries. In some cases, this may be related to resource availability, but in most cases other techno-economic, social and political factors play a significant role in shaping country-specific patterns of renewable energy deployment. The Master’s thesis should systematically compare the deployment of wind and solar energy in Germany, seeking to better understand the country-specific deployment pattern that has been realized. The thesis will represent one case study within a larger research consortium working on a series of country studies.
