Content
This
lecture gives a comprehensive overview of handling and protection of
Intellectual Property (IP) and teaches the basics of IP Management.
This includes formal protection (through patents, copyrights,
trademarks and design patents) as well as informal protection (through
secrecy, various technical solutions).
In
addition, the lecture addresses strategic protection behaviors and
various alternative exploitation and enforcement processes of IP,
including R&D cooperation, transfers and technology markets.
Furthermore, a number of recent problems in protection rights are
discussed, potential developments described and possible solutions
explained.
The theoretical and empirical
knowledge of the lecture will be complemented by external speakers
from practice.
