Content

This lecture gives a comprehensive overview of handling and protection of Intellectual Property (IP) and teaches the basics of IP Management. This includes formal protection (through patents, copyrights, trademarks and design patents) as well as informal protection (through secrecy, various technical solutions).

In addition, the lecture addresses strategic protection behaviors and various alternative exploitation and enforcement processes of IP, including R&D cooperation, transfers and technology markets. Furthermore, a number of recent problems in protection rights are discussed, potential developments described and possible solutions explained.

The theoretical and empirical knowledge of the lecture will be complemented by external speakers from practice.
