Having studied Electrical Engineering, Georg Kreuz was comprehensively trained as patent attorney at Siemens AG in Munich, there for 11 years drafting, prosecuting and litigating patents related to semiconductors and telecommunications equipment; heading the Division Patents and Standards, he was also involved in Quality Assessment. Within subsequent 3 years he had built up and was heading the section for IPR, License Contract Negotiations and Standardization at Sony Digital Communications. For about 8 years he worked as Patent Attorney in the electrical department of a large IP law firm supporting clients mainly in the fields of automotive and telecommunications. Since more than 12 years he is Chief IP Counsel - Europe of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., having built up and established a patent support system in Europe, supported the development of the IPR Department and is in charge of all activities related to Europe. Milestone activities had been the deep involvement in creating the ITU IPR Policy and the deep involvement in the CJEU litigation Huawei/ZTE. Achievements are the development of a cost efficient quality focused patent prosecution concept for Europe and a victory oriented enhanced patent litigation management concept for Germany and UK.
