Innovation Economics


The 2006 newly established Chair for Innovation Economics at the Institute for Technology and Management in the Faculty of Economics and Management is endowed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research (ISI) in Karlsruhe. Since April 2010, Professor Dr. Knut Blind changed to the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems (FOKUS).

Mission Statement

Our mission is to foster a sustainable and globalized knowledge economy and an inclusive society within the digital age. We perform internationally recognized, independent and responsible innovation research within inter- and transdisciplinary teams. Our results are disseminated within the global scientific community and among policy makers as well as business representatives. We contribute to the knowledge base and education in the field of innovation economics, management and policy. Our department is an open platform connecting researchers, students and practitioners.
