Innovation Economics
The Chair for Innovation Economics at the Institute for Technology and Management in the Faculty of Economics and Management was initially established in 2006 with the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research (ISI) in Karlsruhe. Between 2010 and 2019, Professor Dr. Knut Blind changed to the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems (FOKUS). Since October 2019, he changed back to the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research and is responsible for the business unit Innovation and Regulation.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to foster innovation for the transition towards a sustainable economy and an inclusive society within the digital age. We perform independent and responsible innovation research within inter- and transdisciplinary teams. Our results are disseminated within the global scientific community and among policy makers, business representatives as well as civil society. We contribute to the knowledge base and education in the field of innovation studies, management and policy. Our chair is an open platform connecting international researchers, students and practitioners.
