The Chair of Innovation Economics at the Institute for Technology and Management  in the Faculty of Economics and Management  was initially established in 2006 with the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research (ISI) in Karlsruhe. Between 2010 and 2019, Professor Dr. Knut Blind changed to the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems (FOKUS) . Since October 2019, he changed back to the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research  and is responsible for the business unit Innovation and Regulation .
Our mission is to foster responsible innovation
research towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
We perform excellent and independent research, which is disseminated
within the global scientific community, among policy makers, business
representatives and civil society. Our inter- and transdisciplinary
